My name is Valerie Jean, and I understand the allure of gemstones and metals. As a passionate artisan, I too have been captivated by the beauty and craftsmanship that goes into creating intricate pieces of jewelry.
From my humble beginnings in beadwork to becoming an artisan metalsmith, my journey is a testament to the unwavering dedication and passion for the craft. In 2008 I embarked on this creative adventure, experimenting with delicate beadwork that allowed me to express the love for colors and patterns.
As I delved deeper into the world of jewelry making, my fascination with gemstones and metals intensified. I realized that there was an untapped potential waiting to be unlocked by working directly with these captivating materials. In 2014 I was determined to expand my repertoire and take my artistry to new heights, I shifted my focus to the meticulous craft of fabricating metalsmith jewelry by taking many classes at the Lillstreet Art Center, Chicago Illinois.
The transition from beadwork to metalsmithing was not without its challenges, but it was a labor of love for me as a jeweler. I immersed my self in the art form, acquiring new techniques, and perfecting my skills. Through countless hours of dedication and practice, I began to transform raw materials into breathtaking pieces of jewelry that evoked emotions and told stories.
My jeweler's craftsmanship blossomed as I seamlessly blended gemstones and metals, creating a harmonious symphony of beauty and elegance. My keen eye for selecting the perfect gemstone to complement a particular metal and design truly sets my work apart.
